The Men and their Machines.

Dennis “Milky” and Sherry Madsen of So Jordan, Utah. Milky retired from FPD in May 2008 and poses with his 2000 GL1800 w/110k miles and matching custom trailer. Check out the detail in the paint job.

Miky and his 1998 GL1500 SE and his trailer before the Police Car makeover.

Milky’s 1997 BMW GS1100 at the 2007 Utah 1088 rally.

Gary “Larry” and Linda Cooper of Pleasanton, Ca on their 1988 Honda, GL1500 Gold Wing with pack it rack.

From Santa Rose, Ca. Randy and Charlene White and their 2003 HD Road King.

John Howsden Retired FPD of Angels Camp, Ca and his 2004 HD Heritage.

John “Flynstone” Flynn with his 2001 BMW 1150RT. John is an LEO Motor Instructor for FPD.

Paul Mourgos FPD with his 2006 BMW1200GT. Paul is an eligible bachelor, seeking serious inquires.

The Honda ST110O: The best all around motorcycle ever made in my mind. My 1997 Honda ST1100,with 92k miles on Hwy 1 south of Half Moon Bay, Ca. The 3 ST’s and Dale Croy’s GL1800. In the photo, Myself, Bob Shelton and Don Cortez. I added some real Ferrari decals for extra effect.

Dale Croys GL1800 after his final drive went out, Feb 2007, Death Valley, Ca. Fortunately, I had my RV so we loaded it up in the back. There is no cell phone service through most of Death Valley. I dropped him off in Bishop, Ca where he waited for parts.

Croy’s 2002 GL1800 with 136,000 plus miles and aux. fuel cell.

My 2005 Honda, ST1300 ABS with 31k miles at the Air Force Armament Museum, Eglin AFB, Fl.

My 2000 BMW 1150GS ABS with 44k miles in Rhyolite, Death Valley, Ca, Feb 2007.

My 1990 Honda Trans Alp, with 14k miles. I keep mine pristine and it has doubled in value since I bought it in 2004. A unique dual purpose motorcycle which has evolved in Europe since 1986 but only was in the U.S. market for about 4 years. One of the most popular bikes in Europe, the Trans Alp was the precursor to the GS and has evolved into the Varadero and African Twin. I don’t understand why the U.S. market won’t support these versatile machines. Europe has always been way ahead of the U.S. in motorcycling. I will have a page soon dedicated to this machine. Write Honda and tell them you want them in the U.S. market.

My 2008 Honda Ruckus

Carlos Dias’ brand new 2008 HD Police Road King ABS and the same bike a few months later. He crashed it a week before I retired making an enforcement stop in the Niles District of Fremont, Ca. July 07. It would have killed a normal man.

My “04″ Police Road King during a “Side Saddle” riding demo at Fremont Cycle Center, Fremont, Ca.

Paul Dejoy, FPD retired on his 2000 Honda GL1800, near Lassen National Park, Ca. Whoa!!

Sgt Tony “Tank” Delgado FPD and his 2004 Yamaha, FJR, after our IBA 50 CC ride to Jacksonville Beach, Fl. from San Diego. Funny but Tony sold it after this 48 hour ride. We spent a week making it to Ca via the Gulf Coast back roads.

Tony sold his FJR and bought a Harley. Talk about trading down. The best pictograph to represent his decision is this:

Delgado’s Folly

Tony’s 2005 BMW 1150GS which he used in the 2007 Utah 1088 rally.

Milky and his 1998 GL1500SE in Seligman, Az in Oct 2006. Dennis did his first rally, the LOE1000 and his first Iron Butt ride with me on that bike. I mostly like the “Hefty Super Duty” garbage bags he used for his camp gear. They actually held up pretty good through 12 hours of non-stop rain.

Frank Smith, FPD with his 2004 Buell at Lava Beds National Monument, Ca. I installed his heated grips but there was little room for the switch. I put a toggle switch which you can barely see on his tiny wind screen. Frank is a stout man and rides this tiny machine everywhere. About 1/3 of the bike is up his “Kazoo” after our 6 hour ride.

Bob Hole and his GL1500 with 200k plus miles on it. Bob is a self employed NERD and hard riding Son of a Gun. I think he sleeps in his Darian Jacket.

Mike Reeves on his GL1800. Mike is a Corporate Jet Pilot and is use to higher cruising speeds. Mike has his home built hydration system hooked into his GFS(Ground Flight Suit), mounted on his RR pass peg.

Dan Harvey FPD and his HD-Road King. Dan shows his riding face while wearing his Smedly Mellman 2/3rds helmet.
