North to Alaska update

I am in Salt Lake City, Utah. I just got new tires and front brake pads yesterday from Monarch Honda in Orem. Cost $642 dollars. That’s a few bucks more than my No-Mar Tire Machine cost me and which has already paid for itself. They didn’t have my Meztler Road Tec tires but they had some Dunlops, which will be better for riding on the slab. You gotta take what you can get when you are on the road.

According to local Dennis Madsen, Honda World of Salt Lake City has dropped the ball to many times, so he goes a few extra miles to Monarch. They are very competent and accommodating for riders who are passing through.  I give Monarch Honda a “Thumbs Up” if you ever need service in the Salt Lake City area. Ask for “Ben” the tech to work on your bike and “Herbie” is the service manager.

I will make my last legs of this month long ride to Texas starting tomorrow, as I wait out today’s high wind gust warnings (60 MPH) through out Utah. I will use the time to catch up on my posts and try to bring them up to date.  According to my last post, I am still in Redmond, Or.

I hope you have enjoyed my postings as much as I have in writing them. It gives me something to do at night in the motel room and helps me to relive the ride in my mind. I call it a “Twofer”, Two for the price of one.
