Update North to Alaska

I arrived in West Wendover, Nevada last night and am heading to Salt Lake City, Utah. There I plan to get some new tires and front brake pads.

Rolling into West Wendover, Utah on I-80. You can see the Bonnevillle Salt Flats up ahead.

I am waiting for “Milky” and his son who are riding in from Salt Lake City to escort me in. While they are here, we will go to the Peppermill Hotel and Casino for their all you can eat Spaghetti Dinner. The Spaghetti Dinner has been a favorite respite on the road and I always look forward to it, so I always try and make Wendover a Waypoint.

“Milky” is a former co-worker/Motor Cop and after retiring from the PD and the Air Force Reserve, settle down in Salt Lake City. If you’ve read my Face Book updates, you know that I rely on Dennis to feed me updated weather outlooks while on the road. I will be staying with Dennis and will try and catch up on my Posts.

So far, I have made it down the Oregon and California Coasts and spent four days in the S.F. Bay Area visiting old friends. I then traversed the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and stayed at Topaz Lake, Nevada and old fishing hole of mine. Hot weather in the Southern States caused me to take a route north staying as cool as I can, until I reach Texas.
