Nothing like riding a 19 year old

Well, yesterday I was headed to San Antonio for a Birthday Party for Fred’s one year old granddaughter and stopped for some coffee along the way. I thought I would hop on line with my lap top and check out Craigslist for a Transalp. I am always checking the Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio areas for the gems. I had two grand left over from my Reno trip, so I had money to burn when I saw this ad.

Fast forward and 25 hours later and the machine is now parked in my Toy Box. For a 19 year old bike it is in fantastic shape and has been well cared for. One torn rubber grommet which is the mounting post for the right rear turn signal, which allows it spin and flop down but is an easy fix. With 45,000 miles on the odometer, she seems to run like a typical Honda with no issues. There is literally nothing to do to the bike and she is good to go.

Now that I have both year models I feel complete……………………Not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I have two of the three known paint schemes. All that is lacking is the red one. If you happen to come across a Red Transalp in your travels let me know.

As the 2008 Model Transalp is unveiled in Europe, I just can’t understand why Amercian’s are so retarded when it comes to Moto.

2008 Honda 650 Transalp. One of three bikes made by Honda you can’t buy in the U.S..
