Utah!!!!!

Salt Lake and yes I took this picture
After a 258 mile jaunt, I made it to SLC with several stops in between. I took I-70 from Fruita Co and was able to average 80 mph, on the 75 mph slab for 85 miles, until I reached Hwy 191. I followed Hwy 191 from I-70 which leads N/W towards SLC , connecting with Hwy 6 and I-15 for the final 40 miles.
I stopped briefly in Price Ut on Hwy 191 to have lunch and visit the Prehistoric Museum, located downtown. I also stopped at Soldiers Summit which is about 11,000 ft and was a little nippy. At the Summit there is a new gas station, which wasn’t there last year. I thought I would take some time to make mental notes, as I will guide the PD riders back through the other directions in a few days.
There were three major construction areas along 191, which had flagmen and traffic stoppages. This construction will be continuous until they are finished in the winter of this year. I will keep this factor in mind when picking a route during the 1088 rally. The speed limit for 191 is 65 mph with some 55 mph reduced speed zones.

This is a gem of a Museum and I had passed up the opportunity to see it two other times. I called Milky and told him I would be delayed one hundred miles out and to do lunch without me, while I satisfied my curiosity.
The entrance fee for the museum is $5 but I view museum entrance fees as a privilege I endure, to help keep such institutions open. Besides, like most folks I am intrigued by Dinosaurs.
Here are some pictures of the museum display with fossils found at various sites in Utah, a fossil mecca.

After lunch at Taco Bell, I made a another stop on the west side of the Summit on 191 at another gas stop, to do an urinal inspection. After determining the plumbing was functioning as designed, I got a Drumstick Ice cream and looked around the store. I saw the biggest piece of Beef Jerky I’ve ever seen and I giggled to myself and thought Milky would get a big kick out of it.
I arrived at S. Jordan (Milky’s hometown) at 1400 hrs, an hour behind my previous estimate due to the frequent stops. I tried to find Milky’s home via memory but there had been so much development since last year, I had to stop on phone him. I was close, being only two blocks away and eventually made it to his house.

Milky and the Iron Butt plaque I had made for him as a retirement gift and his piece of Giga Jerky.
Thats all for now, I want to take a break from writing Posts. I’ve thrown my dirty laundry into the washing machine and we are on our way to SLC BMW Motorcycles, to see if we should to buy anything we don’t really need.
Tomorrow we leave at noon for West Wendover (120 miles) and visit the old Army Air Field where Con Air was filmed and former home of the 509th Bomb Group, who dropped the A bomb during WW2. We will rendezvous with the riders from California for a stellar Spaghetti dinner and a visit to the Bonneville Salt Flats Museum.
Stay tuned for details on the 7th Annual PD ride in Utah.
